About Dr. Muhammad
Dr. Rizwan Muhammad serves as Associate Medical Director at Intervention Pain Clinic, practicing across both the Chatham and Cambridge locations. He brings 13 years of dedicated interventional pain experience, supported by a remarkably broad clinical foundation that spans orthopedic surgery, general surgery, emergency medicine, and family medicine.
Dr. Muhammad's surgical training — including 5 years in orthopedic surgery and 2 years in general surgery — gives him a precise, anatomy-informed approach to interventional procedures. His decade in emergency medicine sharpened his ability to assess and manage complex, acute presentations, while his family medicine background ensures a patient-centred, whole-person perspective in every consultation.
He holds the Advanced Diploma in Pain Management (CAPM) and the European Board of Emergency Medicine (EBEM) designation, and is a Member of both the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and the Royal College of General Practitioners (England). He is licensed with the CPSO as an interventional pain physician through the College's rigorous change of scope of practice assessment and evaluation program.
In his role as Associate Medical Director, Dr. Muhammad plays a key part in the clinical leadership of the practice, supporting the delivery of high-volume, high-quality interventional care.
